Who we are
imbarazz is a free civic reporting app for the Maltese islands, built and operated by Sean Fenech Adami. The app is accessible at app.imbarazz.mt and the website at imbarazz.mt.
What data we collect
When you submit a report, we collect:
- The photo you upload
- Your GPS coordinates at the time of the report
- An optional nickname you choose
- The date and time of the report
We do not collect your name, email address, phone number, or any account information. No registration is required to use imbarazz.
What we do not collect
We do not use advertising trackers, third-party analytics, or any tools that track you across other websites. We do not sell your data to anyone, ever.
How we use your data
Report data — your photo, location, and nickname — is displayed publicly on the imbarazz map. If you submit an illegal dump report, a pre-written email containing your photo and GPS coordinates is sent to ERA ([email protected]) and Malta Public Cleansing ([email protected]).
Cookies and local storage
The app uses browser local storage to remember your chosen nickname and to store an anonymous device ID used only to prevent duplicate flagging of reports. No cookies are used for advertising or tracking purposes.
Data storage
Report data is stored on a secure PostgreSQL database hosted within Replit's infrastructure. Data is not shared with any third parties beyond the authorities named above.
Your rights
Under GDPR you have the right to request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data. To make a request, contact us at [email protected].
