Who we are

imbarazz is a free civic reporting app for the Maltese islands, built and operated by Sean Fenech Adami. The app is at app.imbarazz.mt and the website at imbarazz.mt.

What data we collect

When you submit a report we collect your photo, GPS coordinates, optional nickname, and timestamp. We do not collect your name, email, phone number, or any account information. No registration is required.

What we do not collect

No advertising trackers, no third-party analytics, no cross-site tracking. We do not sell your data to anyone, ever.

How we use your data

Your report is displayed publicly on the imbarazz map. Illegal dump reports are emailed directly to ERA (info@era.org.mt) and Malta Public Cleansing (customercare.cleansing@gov.mt) with your photo and GPS coordinates attached.

Local storage

The app uses browser local storage to remember your nickname and store an anonymous device ID to prevent duplicate flagging. No advertising cookies are used.

Data storage

Report data is stored on a secure PostgreSQL database within Replit's infrastructure. Data is not shared with any third parties beyond the authorities named above.

Your rights

Under GDPR you have the right to request access to, correction of, or deletion of your data. Contact us at hello@imbarazz.mt.

Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. Continued use of imbarazz after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
